Congratulations to both Thomas and Alyssa for having outstanding report cards!

Thomas needs to work a little harder in music and Alyssa needs to practice her reading, but overall both did a great job.

Pine Wood Derby -- MORE!!!
It turns out that Thomas actually came in first place in his den! This means that he qualifies to go to a district race.

Thomas' "Crazy Bus" was 12th overall in the pack. Every year he does a little better!!

Cub Scouts Pine Wood Derby -- Another Year of Fun
We are just home from this years Pine Wood Derby. The good news for Thomas is that in his individual races, he was never in last -- and in one race he was clearly in first. However, this years times were only good for having fun -- not good enough to win. But the important thing is we had fun!

Thoughts from this years race to consider next year:
* We had too much weight on the car which made weigh-in
last night more difficult -- a slimmer design might help
* Many of the cars were very creative and hardly even cars,
maybe next year it would be fun to be more creative

Guess we have a whole year to think about the next one!

Cub Scouts Pine Wood Derby -- Completed "Crazy Bus"
Thomas' 2004 entry into the Pine Wood Derby is complete! Click Crazy Bus to see a picture! This years car, er "bus" is in front. The two cars behind it are the Police Car from last year and the Red, White and Blue racecar from 2002.

Cub Scouts Pine Wood Derby
We are preparing for this years Cub Scout Pine Wood Derby. This is our third year, and every year we get a little better at making the car. It's not actually a car this time -- it's a bus. It's a CRAZY BUS!

Last year we made a police car -- and the year before that it was a red, white and blue race car. We've always done ok. We have not come in first, but certainly not last either!

Over Christmas break we carved the car and started painting it. This week we finished painting it and polished the axles as best we could. Today we added lettering to the side of the bus and sprayed it with a gloss coat of paint. Tomorrow we will put on the wheels.

Weigh-in is Monday night. The actual race is Tuesday. Wish us luck!

GAME CUBE UPDATE from Thomas
I got a Game Cube for Christmas in 2002. It's my favorite gift of last year.

My favorite games in order are:

Super Mario Sunshine
Super Monkey Ball, which I just got for Christmas in 2003
The Legend of Zelda the Wind Waker
Backyard Baseball
Luigi's Mansion
Rogue Leader II (my Star Wars game)

My dad really likes Animal Crossing even though it is ours.


This is my Super Mario Sunshine Update:

Super Mario sunshine is a game were baby bouser pollutes the island. I beat the game on December
24th 2003.

Tip: When you`re in Corona Mountin when you are at the rocket nossel get it then boost up
to the clouds. Then you are at bouser then you have to boost up then push the L and you have to
do that 5 times. Then you win the game.
