03/28/2004: "PINEWOOD DERBY - District Races"

Yesterday we attended the district races for the Pinewood Derby. The races were scheduled for 9 AM through 4 PM. However, as races completed for the various ranks of cub scouts, those who DIDN'T win were able to pick up their cars and leave -- so we weren't really sure we wanted to win!

Tommy's car ran 6 times, and came in 4th in 1 race, 2nd in 4 races, and 1st in 1 race! It was a respectable showing considering the competition was made up of top racers from all over the district. However, it wasn't enough to place in the top ten. There's always next year!

(Of course, the good news is we were able to leave around lunch time :-)
